*waves hand of dismissal* The Adeles and Amys and Dustys might have made it “acceptable” for white folks to listen to watered down/vocally tamed versions of soul music, but this video is proof positive that there’s power and true emotion in black women’s voices that can’t be messed with. trust know and believe, we hear you, but we really ain’t hearing you, naysayers.
